This one-of-a-kind piece is one I've looked forward to creating since I returned from Martinique. The Ravenala Necklace is directly inspired by the "Ravenala Madagascariensis"(also known as the Traveler's Palm which inspired a separate piece in the collection with the same name). The piece highlights the tree's unique braid-like roots with hand-woven *18k gold plated wire between four, *18k gold plated, squared rows that embellish the neckline. The six, roughly 2 inches large, green agate stones set in *18k gold vermeil frames are used to reflect the striking yet fluttering beauty of the tree's massive leaves. This piece is all about how the smallest details make the greatest statement.

DESIGN INSPIRATION: 

The Ravenala Madagascariensis, or Traveler's Palm, made a big impact on me when I landed in Martinique. As this lovely palm tree was what first greeted me to the island, the Ravenala Necklace ended up being the very first design I came up with after returning home. Often found greeting visitors of tropical islands outside of airports, this eccentric palm tree was certainly a striking welcome to the French-Caribean island and inspired not one, but two pieces in this collection.
