DESIGN INSPIRATION: Much like most of the jewelry in the 2021 Travel Capsule, the inspiration for this piece was found in the city of Fort-de-France. Or should I say, along the city? Traveling by boat from Les Anses-d'Arlet, nearing Fort-de-France's dock, this row of colored buildings of varying design was such a special welcome, as so much of Martinique is flourished with small colorful homes of the same palette. This made entering the city feel like a place that has modernized through design while paying homage to its colorful home. In both creating and naming this piece, I might have depicted both my own and this lovely city's colorful inspirations.
